More on Smoke Detectors....

So my post on fires and smoke detectors got me thinking. Yes, I actually do think, with my own brain, at times. I wouldn't bet too much moola on me though. This is only an occasional occurrence.

Any way, this got me thinking about how to start up some type of charitable group handing out and installing smoke detectors and making sure that homes also have working fire extinguishers and the residence know how to use them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this started? I do know that Fire Departments in my state hand them out for free; but sometimes people just need that extra nudge and bringing them to their houses might be a better move. With so many home bound, I can only imagine what would happen if they couldn't get one of the smoke detectors from the fire department (even though I think they will even come out and install them)and they had a fire. Some people are just too shy to call for the help they need.

I also feel it is important to make sure homes have fire extinguishers. Having a fire extinguisher in your home can be the difference between a small kitchen fire and a massive, fully involved home fire.

Let me know what you think and if you can find any information regarding starting up a charity. I am currently looking for information, but haven't found it yet.

As far as the smoke detectors... Laura you are so kind.
