Peaches, Nectarines and More Peaches

006If you enjoy peaches like I or my family, then your mouth may just water after seeing these beautifully scrumptious, extremely large peaches.

The farm that we visited, known by the name Marker-Miller Orchard, is a Pick Your Own type of orchard, but peaches are not the only fruit they offer. In the fall you can also pick your own apples and they are delicious. Yesterday we (my mother, my step-dad, a friend and myself) went to the orchard. Because it was rather hot, even in Winchester, Virginia, we decided to purchase this years pickings all ready picked.

My mom bought more than just peaches. She and my step-dad also bought some pluots (a plum/apricot hybrid), summer apples, corn, tomatoes...well, I am sure I left something out.

Here are some more pictures of the peaches:

peachesboxAs you can see, lots of peaches; but these pictures don't really do them justice. My 14 year old Chels took these with her cell phone; so when I make some delicious food with these peaches, you will get to see some better photos and drool.

I'm not a big peach fan. I like berries better.

I love peach cobbler! My daughter will eat just about any fruit, my son's slightly more picky. :)

Awww Tammy, no peaches? What is wrong with you ...teehee...jk Two of my children do not like peaches, well, one of them seems to have a slight aversion to fruit period; weird huh?

I also love berries, but there aren't too many fruits I won't eat.

@Kelsey--Yes, peach cobbler is awesome. I use a Fanny Farmer cookbook recipe and it is yummmmmmmy.

Isn't it funny to read other blogs and find out a commonality? I am originally from Winchester. Actually a NATIVE and just moved 1.5 yrs ago to Southwest VA. Therefore, I can appreciate Marker-Miller Orchards!

Have a great weekend!
