WAHM: Getting Started!

I am not going to say I am an expert; by any means, but I have been on this adventure of being a WAHM (work at home mom) since the beginning of 2007.

I figured I would share some of my ups and downs and some links that I have found extemely useful.

First, Craig's List can be quite wonderful; if you just keep in mind; not everything is what it seems.

If you are interested in replying to a post for a job or gig; do not, whatever you do; do not give a resume on the first contact.  One exception; if it is reputable company that you can verify at that moment.  Once you send someone your resume with all of your contact information, you cannot take it back.  Do you "really" know who is viewing your resume; NO!  So be careful.

Make sure you get specifics on the position/job/gig.  If they are asking you to process anything that deals with money orders/checks/bank related:  RUN!  If the person says in the job/gig post that they are paying X amount of dollars per hour and when you contact the it changes:  RUN!  If you feel in the least that it seems to good to be true or you just think something is not right:  RUN.  Always listen to that "inner" voice; it is there for a reason.

Research is your best friend!

Some great places to get SCAM information:

Rip Off Report, WAHM, BBB, Fraud, FTC

to be continued.........
